I’ve been loving cooking again after a long hiatus—embracing having friends over for simple and hearty peasant food and unlearning kitchen trauma. the jasmine wafts up to my window, cocooning me in a fragrant veil as I become comfortable with my knives again. lonesome cowboy tunes play in the background, and spring has sprung 🌸🌱
I've been loving: the book Ninth Street Women, by Mary Gabriel, and the perfume "Dryad" by the company Papillon. Also I am permanently loving observing my dog as she trots around the apartment completing her small tasks for the day (having a drink of water, moving her bone from one location to another, etc)
I love Ninth Street Women!!!! I read it a few years ago (just before the Lee Krasner exhibition at the Barbican) and learned so much about abstract expressionism, postwar America, the art market, and all of these fascinating art world personalities
I've been loving looking at old books of art nouveau florals! Studying ornate historical illustrations helps me to appreciate art that's been painstakingly done by hand (and hopefully evoke it too in some medium)!
- emily austin's interesting facts about space, which reached me at a point in my life where i needed it to and ugly cried throughout the latter half!
- ceramics/pottery seconds sales <3 just bought two pieces from luvhaus and am eying a couple pieces at the bauer seconds sale since i get paid tomorrow!
- walking by the coast — living by the ocean for the first and perhaps the only time in my life is something i'm trying not to take for granted
I’ve been loving cooked salmon (something I’ve always actively disliked) and it’s 100% thanks to the Kitchette’s, “Paper-Baked Salmon with stone ground mustard glaze”. Paper-baked fish goes crazy!
Alex Mills color block striped cardigan: soft enough for all day wear at work, can withstand the extreme weather changes we’ve been having in Illinois.
Baggu crescent bag: I finally understand the joys and convenience of carrying a purse, especially one that can get a little beat up but still give my outfit some flair.
I’ve been loving singing in my car on the way home from work. I just got my first in person big girl job but my commute is far! Makes things feel more celebratory and happy! It’s a nice way to get some steam off!
I’ve been loving to cook food for my flatmates and watching a tv show while eating. Currently we’re watching Modern family but we were watching Desperate housewives together before. I’ve been loving wearing my mustard color sweater with colorful bird graphics on it. Often it’s the only thing I want to wear. I’ve also been enjoying wearing bright blushes like my bare minerals powder blush and all my cream blushes.
- this specific version of "ghost run free" by the lemon twigs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj6iNkmveKY, i desperately wish it was on spotify so i could add it to the spring playlist i'll inevitably make. it sounds just like a sun-soaked day in april spent with friends and very few plans.
- joining my local roller derby league. derby is very physically demanding, but i've been relishing pushing myself through the fear of "what if i'm not doing this right" etc. my home team is full of amazing supportive people and i can't wait to play in my first derby bout!
- debaser by ds and durga. it's a fig perfume that's not too green but not too sweet. tart and fresh and a little weird. my perfect warm weather scent!!

I've been loving Europa Editions books, going to Sephora, purple shoes, bidding on folky home decor on Ebay <3
I’ve been loving brown butter rice krispy treats with salt. A childhood classic turned sumptuous treat that I keep making and sharing and snacking on
that sounds soooooo good.
Lately I’ve been loving:
* connecting with friends I haven’t seen in a while
* a brown liquid eyeliner from flortte that I got at teso life— it comes in a cow printed tube 🥹
* watching the trees blossom on my street in Brooklyn!
* the space that being unemployed and working only part time jobs is giving me to reevaluate my life and priorities
* Jeni’s blackout chocolate cake ice cream!

I’ve loved discovering you and your fierce intelligence Viv! Your menocore manifesto made me laugh (I’m turning 53 this month)
thank you caroline that means a lot! <3
I've been loving splitting a bottle of wine with some good bread and olive oil at the wine shop around the corner from house 🩵

I’ve been loving froyo again, especially from the local shop near me that makes it from scratch + has handmade mochi topping too!
