Good morning, I’m at the airport right now headed to LA for the bathhouse reading event tomorrow. On my left, a fluffy dog with a perfectly round cotton ball head. On my right, an older white woman in Gucci horsebit mules, a straw hat and a stack of eight Cartier bracelets. Something funny happened where the airline people called out her name, *Carrie (first name changed for her privacy) Lee.
Everyone looked at me.
She waved her Cartier bionic arm in the air to be like, “that’s me.” I laughed. (Sometimes I genuinely forget that there are white Lees).
Anyways, I’m so ready to go somewhere that isn’t foggy. My film camera is packed, my essay is printed out (I’ll be rehearsing it out loud in the mirror so I’m not jumpscared by the sound of my voice), I brought 3 giant ziplocs because I tend to pack a dozen Courage Bagels to bring home.
had a very timely post on perfect LA bites which influenced me to try the plum donut from Bub’s.I’m cleaning through my secondhand saves/bookmarked vintage brands, so here are 20 pieces for you to browse.
They’re all either:
things I personally own!
independent brands I love/pieces on my wishlist
pieces similar to all the old Prada/Miu Miu in my personal collection
obscure vintage brands I recently discovered—like a y2k Italian label that makes Pucci swirl pieces under $50 on secondhand sites. The Pucci resale bubble is so big rn, you won’t catch me paying the inflated prices this summer.
Ok enjoy! <3
Bonnie Clyde Baby Sunglasses—$109
I have these and wear them all the time. Nice 90s shape, doesn’t weigh down on my low nose bridge.
Allina Liu Pistachio Shorts—S, $65
I’m loving Allina Liu’s growth as a young/emerging designer, and these pistachio colored shorts are a modern take on the bloomer that will keep you cool and Victorian doll-esque in the summer.
Miu Miu FW99 Butterfly Knot Leather Tote—$168
Freshly discounted, hard to come by these under $200. I have this bag in the crossbody style and paid more for it.
This next find has been on my wishlist forever, but it’s not my size </3
