Good morning!
I feel like I blinked and suddenly there’s a bounty of good TV. Tonight I’m watching the new Meg Stalter/Will Sharpe show with a giant bowl of nutritional yeast popcorn (perhaps this will be the romcom everyone wanted Materialists to be…). And in case you didn’t know this about me, I genuinely LOVE The Summer I Turned Pretty, which comes back next week.
Also, a big thanks to everyone who chipped in for the fundraiser ft. my interview with Hayley. We raised $987, so I rounded up to $1,000, which went to the LA Garment Worker Center’s Immigration Worker Defense Fund.
Right now I have 30 tabs open on my computer for vintage bikini tops.
Mostly old pucci because I love the 60s/70s colorful swirls, a fendi set with green trim, and a random roxy polka dot one that I ruled out because deep down I know I just want the nu swim one….
Why this rabbit hole, you ask?
Because I’ll be reading at Substack’s LA bathhouse event later this month, along with these wonderful writers!
The venue will be in a pool at a K-spa, so bring your bathing suit if you want to take a dip. We’ll have ice cream, libations, and snacks.
Personally, I just can’t wait to (1) spend a few days visiting my old haunts in LA—let me know if there’s a restaurant/cafe/vintage shop I can’t miss? and (2) meet some of you IRL!!! This is the first IRL Molehill event since my fragrance swap last fall. It’s going to be fun.
I actually have no idea what I’m going to wear yet but these things always have a way of coming together with crystal clarity in the last moment. Knowing me, it will probably end up being a silk slip of sorts. In the meantime, I’ve been listening to a lot of Caroline Polachek (desireeeee, i wanna turn into you) on repeat for writing inspo.
The event is also limited capacity and expected to fill up fast, so first come first serve.
See ya there!
