The Prada inspo (to me) always seemed to be 1970s kitchen and clothing colors. There was a little 70s revival in 94/95 and it crept all the way to Milan.
for K-pop fans like myself this shade is the fandom color of the boy group nct. they’ve been around since 2017 and there are songs of theirs that wouldn’t be that much out of place on a charli album! their fans (nctzens) are usually dressed head to toe in this shade when attending their concerts and they even say their music is a separate genre named “neo” lmao I could go on but I’ll stop here 😶 anyways I’m glad this color is back in the mainstream as I’m attending their concert next month and it’s going to be slightly more easier to find clothes in this shade
You just listed all of the reasons I subconsciously love a brighter green. I had the green razor; Charli is only a few days older than me, and the birthstone for August is Peridot. Buttercup was my favorite character to buy at the Universal Studios store. I'm also curious if you have a Depop!?
Buttercup girls unite! I use depop mostly to buy haha but sometimes post my personal things on @shoppoodlescloset on IG tho there’s not a lot of stuff!
green having a revival is pretty fascinating to me, it’s chic it’s fun it’s gruesome it’s bitter to look at and i think it’s fascinating to see charli have this build up on it and transcend it into pop culture… now all i see is green everywhere and as a green lover, this is perfectly analyzed on how colors are used in music, art, fashion, movies, television, etc 💚 into this strongly! great piece!
all the reasons we all love brat coalesce right here. such a smart, cool breakdown. I saw an article call this green “radioactive” and thought that’s interesting, like the idea of imbalance, of excess energy. kinda got me thinking of Frankenstein.
buttercup is so brat coded!!
i love that this color has people’s attention right now. it’s so bright and fun and a little ugly in the best way.
i think the album as a whole is a fun juxtaposition of how barbie and pink were omnipresent last summer.
i was also getting a little green screen – an empty expanse that everything and anything can be projected upon
love!!

this was my fav color for so long simply because of how much i identified with buttercup. it evolved into olive green becoming my fav of all time!!
Joni Mitchell used this green in her 1975 album cover, which she designed, for “The Hissing of Summer Lawns.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Joni_hissing.jpg
From Jem-The Misfits were also a heavy metal band with lime green big hair.

Late to the party but I had to think about Poison Ivy from Batman as one of the 90’s most iconic tv bad girls 🌱.

I’ve been on the chartreuse caboose for a few years now 💚 I love the Prada reference- the 1950s interior decor is such a vibe! (Also queen shego)

Truly the best piece I've read about brat so far.
Thank you Kristen!
