I have this sterling silver ring with a cutout pattern throughout the whole band that I bought at a market when I studied abroad in the UK. It doesn’t align with my tastes now but it reminds me of the first time I felt fully and truly independent and got to make choices for myself for once (I am the eldest daughter in a filipino household lol).

I don't even have mine anymore :( it was a gold charm bracelet with a star, a crown, and a flower. I can't remember the other charms, but it always made me feel so elegant swinging from my wrist. It came in a set, one for me and one for my cousin, who was my childhood best friend. (Now I'm her son's godmother)!

My favorite piece is actually very similar to yours, except it’s my name in Chinese. I got it from Kinn Studio. It makes me feel close to my heritage and family and I know that no one else has the same necklace as me. I can’t wait to pass it down one day.

I inherited my grandfather's wedding band, which had a beautiful inscription from my grandmother on the inside and their wedding date. I had a jeweler cut the band into 3 pieces, flatten it out and make 3 bar necklaces for myself, my mom and my brother. He even managed to preserve the inscription on our pieces.

my boyfriend knows i love rings with eyes on them (and just eyes as a motif!) so he got me a silver one that blinks💗i love the sound it makes and as someone with ADD it feels like a cool fidget toy too!

My grandmothers ring that my grandfather had made (!) in 1950 in Denmark. So modernist for its time and solid 18c gold. When I wear it I feel a connection to their love. Soppy but true!

My most sentimental piece of jewlery is the ring my best friend made. We learned how to make jewelry together in highschool and spent hours toiling over sheets of metal and making bezels for stones we found in the woods. the ring she made me sits on my ring finger at all times, no matter how often it gets caught in my hair or on my clothes. she burnt her hand making the charcoal cast star and we cherish the scar

my most sentimental piece is an earring that was my moms that i made into a necklace. she was in a serious accident and lost the other earring. the earrings were part of a set with a matching necklace that was a bigger version of the earring, so i had the “baby” version and literally a memento of her survival (and my making the best of a difficult situation!)

Probably a cop out, but my fave/most sentimental piece of jewelry is my wedding ring. My partner and I got matching ones, and I skipped the engagement ring so all I have is the band. They’re a take on the claddagh ring, with 2 hands clasping eachother in solid gold (10k?? 14k?? I honestly don’t know), and it’s the one thing I wear every day!

loved this piece. because of how sentimental i am about my jewelry, it can feel so hard to buy new pieces like there’s a self-imposed pressure that every piece has to be heirloom quality. i like the reminder that it can also just be for whatever mood we’re in that day.

that being said, my favorite piece is a gold necklace with two charms: one is an initial M charm from my late grandmother (i was blessed to be the only granddaughter with same first initial - score) and the other is a charm my bf gifted me on our first anniversary. it’s a gold disc he had engraved with a doodle he drew of him, and he has a matching disc with a doodle he drew of me that he wears on his chain so even when we’re apart we’re still together. i feel like both his and my family’s love is so close to my heart when i wear it, it’s the most special piece!!!

I have a gold heart locket from my mom that i LOVE. there's an old old school photo of her as a little kid wearing it and it looks comically big on her because she's so tiny

I didn't think I had a sentimental piece of jewelry but my first pair of earrings are small 24k gold hoops that my grandma bought for me when I first got them pierced on my 4th birthday. Idk what 4 year old is aware that her jewelry is 24k and is proud of it, but I was! And I somehow never lost them despite wearing them every day. I never wore any other earrings until high school. I'm honestly surprised I haven't had a scare like that yet?? Did I just jinx myself.

My mom just gave me a name plate a month ago for my birthday :) it’s now my most sentimental piece but before that it was a vintage Gucci watch given to me by my ex.

I’m so sentimental about my jewelry - for sure gold name plate necklace, a gift from my mom when I was in middle school (solid gold is key!) I still wear it over 20 years later. Thanks for the layering ideas!

I got my ears pierced just before I headed to Seoul for summer school when I was in university. In Seoul, I bought my very first pair of earrings: a pair of simple silver huggies to replace the barbell studs from the piercer. I have since gotten many other pairs of earrings and ear cuffs, and also lost one side of said huggies at the swimming pool. However, those earrings, or rather earring, remind me of a time when I thought I had fashioned a new visual identity and given myself an armour of sorts while being away from home without my family for the very first time in my life.
