love love LOVE love!! I saved this article until after I watched the film, forgot about it, and just stumbled back upon it. All the boots had me in tears... I've been lusting after Bella's socialist era look and haven't been able to shake it. So sad that the miista boots are out of stock in my size

Every outfit in the brothel era caught my eye. The acting and the outfits in this movie were insane! Thanks for this very enjoyable and detailed post. I loved going through it and getting inspired.

Such a great, fun post! My style resembles Bella’s Rebellion, Monster Mash, and Self-Actualized eras :)

*purchases Batsheva top immediately* LOVE how you connected the fashion to the key themes of the movie. I came out of the theater wishing I could shop Bella’s closet. Thanks to making it possible!

Omg this whole piece is iconic. I love how you’ve broken these looks down to reflect how Bella was expressing and discovering herself at the time - the fashion in poor things was without a doubt one of my favourite parts of the film.

My favourite Bella look was definitely her gone girl era. I loved the way the expressed her new found freedom in the way she was choosing to dress herself. Those silk shorts? Iconic. The all black socialist era was also wonderful - mourning her innocence and carefree nature whilst nodding to her newfound sociopolitical ideological wake up call. In so many ways that the film missed the mark on ‘feminism’ I think the evolution to wearing all black when she begins to learn about the world around her in a more intellectual way was absolutely spot on.
