I've been really enjoying these trip posts lately! I really love how your fashion writing is so attuned to specific spaces – it's such a breath of fresh air next to the more contextless "TEN THINGS COOL GIRLS ARE WEARING THIS SUMMER" posts and articles around! – and it's fun to see your style respond to each one.
Ahhhh this means a lot!!! Thank you for reading and I’m so glad you enjoy :) travel style writing is such an interesting genre, you’re right that it can easily blend in together, like what girls are wearing in Vacationland (using Brendon Holder’s clever phrase here!)
Love Mendocino. My husband and I have been going there since we met as Cal English majors in 1974. Also love Jumbo's where I had my first Okie Onion burger - the best!
When I saw the photograph of the view at Mendocino, I immediately thought that the rocks were sea monsters ready to leap out of the water and attack Odysseus' ship. Me own fault for seeing The Odyssey yesterday!

romantic!!!
Have you ever been there when the town fire siren goes off in the middle of the night? It's happened to us two or three times. Frightening!
Omg yes! Thankfully a local was nearby and told us it was fine
this post is a great reminder that i have a vintage-from-my-dad off-white cotton j crew rollneck sweater in desperate need of (visible) mending...
