It’s starting to oscillate towards transitional outerwear in California, and the cashmere knits I’ve cocooned in all winter are starting to feel stuffy. One of my favorite sensations is wearing a ventilated cotton knit on a warm day and feeling the heat distributed on your arms and shoulders through the kaleidoscopic holes.
Historically, crochet hasn’t been a part of my wardrobe at all. My sister is a textile artist and has made me some very cute crochet accessories over the years (this pretzel purse chiefest among them). However, I am starting to gravitate towards open-knit pieces that are somewhere between Bode’s softboy heirlooms and Elieen Fisher’s menocore minimalism.
I would have never thought to consider this brand, firmly outside the well-trodden resale territories of Lauren Manoogian or Babaa or Doen…
